  • Progressive side bets: Games such as Caribbean Stud Poker commonly have one of these. You usually lay a wager (a dollar is the normal value) to try to win a bonus jackpot that can be upwards of $25,000. Though huge jackpots like these are extremely alluring, they are also particularly complicated to succeed. You might need to get a Royal Flush in order to win this bet. Also, think about this- you play twenty hands and put the side wager every time. That’s twenty dollars you could have used towards the actual game bet instead of a sucker wager. Imagine what you might have been able to win at a wager with greater odds employing that 20 dollars.
  • Individual number bets in Roulette: This is especially true for American Roulette. Why? American Roulette has 2 0’s on the wheel, unlike European Roulette, which has only one. This takes the complete house edge from 2percent with one zero wheel to a whopping fivepercent in American. The one number bet has just a one in 38 chance of succeeding, which are very long odds indeed. Try even-odd or black-red bets alternately which have a much smaller house advantage.
  • Keno: Any version of Keno, and anyway you play it, the house edge can be a whopping 25%. Yes, that wasn’t a typo. Due to the large amount of numbers you have to pick, it isn’t recommended to play Keno very much. A couple of times for fun, maybe. But do not waste all your money on it or you’ll quickly find yourself bankrupt.
